The ideal candidate is an experienced Veterinary Technician with
at least 5 years of anesthesia experience
, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about patient care. This role supports a dynamic internal medicine team and will involve a wide range of responsibilities, from technical procedures to direct client communication.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery.
Proficient IV catheter placement, and accurate drug calculations & calculations.
Quality nursing and husbandry care of patients.
Strong working knowledge of veterinary procedures and pharmacology.
Perform in- hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs.
Perform and/ or participate in all other diagnostics such as radiology, ultrasound, ECG, BP, and glucose monitoring.
Monitor anesthesia.
Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights as well as providing client education.
Provide nursing care for in- hospital patients including all veterinarians requested treatments, diagnostics, and medication. Accurately and completely record all treatments.
Conduct pre- admission exams and discharge hospitalized patients.
Updates clients appropriately.
Maintain legally defensible medical records in cooperation with veterinarians.
Actively engage in nursing rounds.
Required Knowledge/ Skills:
2 years' experience in Internal Medicine
Excellent veterinary nursing and technician skills.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Strong computer skills.
Strong ability to multi- task.
Clear understanding and enforcement of OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.
