RN Cardiac (Department of Corrections Unit) Position Summary Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Responsibilities As the primary care RN you will be the primary coordinator of all disciplines to achieve well-organized patient care, including delegation of position appropriate patient care. -Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. -Assessment - The RN uses a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze data about a patient, the first step in delivering nursing care. Assessment includes not only physiological data, but also psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors as well. -Updating patient records to accurately show patient condition. -Care plan Based on the assessment and problem identification, the nurse sets measurable and achievable short- and long-range goals in collaboration with the patient and family. Assessment data, problem identification, and goals are written in the patients care plan so that nurses as well as other health professionals caring for the patient have access to it. Implementation of care plan. -Transition or Discharge planning-assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. -Monitoring vital signs, telemetry monitors, and EKG interpretation. -Ensures patient safety -Medication administration -Patient/Family education -Supervision & multitasking THE RN Cardiac (Department of Corrections Unit) FT NIGHTS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION License Required: Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days.
