Job Description
The Plant General Manager is responsible for developing the company's operational capabilities and ensuring the site’s growth and long-term success. This position drives world-class performance across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost efficiency, process control, ISO compliance, 5S, and customer satisfaction, in a highly automated environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
Lead the continued establishment of the facility and all supporting functions, ensuring it becomes a fully capable and successful manufacturing site.
Develop and execute operational strategies to deliver sustainable profitability and growth.
Partner with the Commercial team and New Product Development to promote LIM capabilities and convert business opportunities into sales revenue.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize labor and material utilization, process capability, and cost efficiency.
Build and lead a world-class LIM operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and collaboration.
Plan and implement activities to improve key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment with company goals.
Manage the annual operating budget and capital expenditures to meet financial and operational targets.
Project Management & Vendor Relations
Lead cross-functional projects from concept through full implementation, ensuring timely delivery, resource efficiency, and business impact.
Manage vendor relationships and lead key projects supporting both operational and strategic initiatives.
Oversee project planning, execution, and performance tracking to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and customer requirements.
Safety, Quality & Customer Satisfaction
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, maintaining a safe workplace for all employees.
Guarantee high levels of product quality and on-time delivery to achieve customer satisfaction.
Support process control, ISO, and regulatory compliance across all operations.
Operational Systems, Data Management & Workplace Organization
Maintain systems data related to your functional responsibilities according to the matrix located on SharePoint/Global Share Documents/Information Technology/Systems Data Maintenance.
Utilize ERP and production planning tools to ensure effective scheduling, resource allocation, and reporting.
Actively participate in 5S and Kaizen programs by achieving and consistently maintaining 3S in personal work area. Participate in rotating 5S schedule as auditor for local facility and owner for local common areas.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in injection molding of elastomers and/or thermoplastics (LIM experience strongly preferred).
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical capability, with experience managing budgets and reporting on KPIs.
Solid understanding of ERP systems, production planning, and shop floor reporting tools.
Experience driving Lean initiatives and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
Strong project management skills, with proven ability to lead complex initiatives from concept to execution.
Ability to manage a wide range of projects and initiatives simultaneously.
