Quality Engineering Manager – Precision Machining Environment

to join their team. This is a high‑impact leadership role for a hands‑on quality professional who thrives in technically complex settings and has proven experience leading teams on the production floor. This role sits on the site leadership team and serves as the senior quality authority for the facility, overseeing quality systems, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple operations.

Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic and operational leadership for site‑wide quality engineering and compliance activities within a regulated manufacturing environment. Own, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with FDA, ISO, AS/ISO, and customer requirements. Lead, mentor, and develop a multi‑layered quality team, including Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and Technical Specialists. Act as the site Management Representative for Quality, serving as the primary contact for regulatory bodies, audits, and customer quality matters. Drive root cause analysis, CAPA, nonconformance management, and risk mitigation using data‑driven and statistical methodologies. Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Leadership to support product launches, validations, and process improvements. Oversee internal and external audits, customer visits, and supplier quality engagements. Ensure effective document control, training systems, product release processes, and inspection strategies. Utilize KPIs, metrics, and trend analysis to improve performance and support business objectives.

Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline. Proven people leader with experience managing 15+ direct and indirect reports, including disciplinary action and performance management. Hands‑on production floor quality experience within a manufacturing environment Background in precision machining and metal manufacturing, ideally supporting automotive, aerospace, or medical device production. 5+ years of progressive quality engineering leadership experience. Experience in ISO 13485‑certified environments is highly preferred. Strong technical foundation in tight‑tolerance manufacturing environments. Demonstrated expertise in: statistical analysis and quality tools (Minitab preferred), blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation, and root cause methodologies, SPC, and data‑driven problem solving. Experience leading and supporting regulatory, customer, and third‑party audits. Comfortable operating in multi‑building or multi‑operation manufacturing sites. Experience working with enterprise quality systems, ERP platforms, and data visualization tools. Ability to coach, mentor, and build high‑performing technical teams.

Compensation Range:

$120,000 - $140,000
