Must Haves: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or manufacturing systems Hands‑on experience with PLC‑based control systems Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments (pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or similar) Strong problem‑solving, documentation, and communication skills

Pluses: Familiarity with MES, serialization, or data historians Experience with robotics and automated packaging systems (e.g., FANUC, Staubli) Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity and automation network architecture Experience supporting greenfield or large capital projects Ability to manage vendors and multi‑disciplinary project teams

Job Description: Insight Global is seeking an Automation Engineer to support the startup and ongoing operation of its state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility in Concord, North Carolina. This role will provide automation engineering leadership for highly integrated, automated pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging systems, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable operations. This is a unique opportunity to help build, standardize, and operate a next‑generation manufacturing site utilizing advanced automation and digital technologies. Responsibilities: Provide automation design, implementation, and technical oversight for manufacturing and packaging systems at the Concord site Partner with system integrators, OEMs, and internal engineering teams to deliver compliant and robust automation solutions Ensure automation systems meet GMP, data integrity, cybersecurity, and safety requirements Support site startup, commissioning, qualification, and validation activities Drive standardization and replication of automation architectures across the global manufacturing networks Troubleshoot and optimize PLC, HMI, robotics, and control systems to improve reliability and performance Participate in lifecycle management of automation assets, including upgrades and obsolescence planning Collaborate with Operations, Quality, IT, and Maintenance teams to support continuous improvement Other duties, as assigned
