Core User-Plane as a Service SRE Dev

At Ericsson Canada Inc., we are launching an innovative unit within the 5G core business that transforms how 5G services are delivered globally. We aim to build and provide Cloud Native solutions “as a Service” on Hyper Cloud Providers (HCP).

What you will do

Design, develop and support Cloud Native scalable, high performance and robust User-Plane functions.

Ensure the operational reliability, availability, security and performance of cloud‑based applications by implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.

Work in a full‑stack capacity – developing your service code as well as associated automated tests, deployment, and monitoring code.

Apply containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes to deploy and run applications in a cloud environment.

Work with our Cloud Native based continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the software delivery process.

Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in User‑Plane Software as a Service (SaaS) Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

Work in a team using Lean, Agile and DevOps methodologies and tooling.

What you will bring

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, computer science, or an equivalent technical discipline.

Strong knowledge in TCP/IP networking, routing, and high‑performance packet processing (DPDK, SR‑IOV, Virtio).

Experience in developing stateless Cloud Native software components.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) or Configuration as Code for SRE operational stability and reliability.

Experience with containerization technologies, especially Docker, and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.

Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (and/or AWS, Azure).

Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful /gRPC APIs, and cloud‑based databases is a plus.

Experience with CI/CD tools like Cloud Build, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.

Strong knowledge of IaC tools such as Terraform, Google Deployment Manager or AWS CloudFormation is a plus.
