We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Game Presentation reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer to bring our in‑arena and event experiences to life.

Job Summary The Director, Game Presentation is responsible for the full fan experience at every Toronto Tempo game and team-hosted event. This role oversees the design, production, and execution of all live events, from tip‑off to the final buzzer, from pre‑season fan festivals to community appearances, ensuring that every touchpoint embodies the Tempo brand and delivers a world‑class experience for fans, partners, and players alike. This individual will lead the Game Day Operations team, oversee production logistics, manage event budgets, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and uphold operational excellence across all live environments. The Director, Game Presentation is a master of logistics, someone who understands that game day is theatre, and that every cue, sound, and movement contributes to how fans feel about the team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Game Day Experience & Live Event Production

Lead all aspects of game day operations, including production, entertainment, in‑arena programming, and run‑of‑show management.

Develop and own the Tempo Game Day Experience strategy to ensure every moment reflects the team’s brand, energy, and values.

Work closely with event production agencies to produce all Tempo games, both in Toronto and out‑of‑market regular season games across Canada, ensuring seamless execution, brand consistency, and operational excellence.

Build detailed run‑of‑shows and technical scripts; manage execution in real time.

Collaborate with venue operations, WNBA league staff, and broadcast partners to meet production standards.

Ensure all live environments are executed safely, seamlessly, and professionally.

Oversee all Toronto Tempo live events and activations, including press events, community initiatives, fan festivals, and partner experiences.

Partner with external agency leads to plan and execute Tempo LIVE fan festivals and other Tempo‑led, fan‑focused events that connect the brand to communities across Canada.

Develop event timelines, production schedules, and operational plans that align with organizational goals.

Create contingency and crisis response plans to ensure operational readiness.

Own and manage event and production budgets, including forecasting, cost tracking, and reconciliation.

Establish and maintain production standards, operational protocols, and event documentation.

Develop and implement KPIs and post‑event reporting to evaluate success and identify opportunities for improvement.

Bring forward new ideas to evolve the in‑game experience and differentiate the Tempo within the WNBA and Canadian sports landscapes based on current trends.

Incorporate fan, partner, and staff feedback to continually improve event operations and experience design.

Team Leadership & Cross Functional Collaboration

Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing Game Operations & Events team, including full‑time, seasonal, and event‑day staff.

Foster a collaborative culture that bridges departments, including Brand & Community, Partnerships, Revenue, and Communications to deliver cohesive fan experiences.

Partner with ticketing, guest services, and fan engagement teams to ensure a seamless fan journey from entry to exit.

Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Event Production, Marketing, or a related field.

7+ years of progressive experience in game operations, live event production, or sports entertainment management.

Proven success in managing large‑scale live events with multiple stakeholders, complex logistics, and tight timelines.

Deep understanding of sports presentation, fan engagement, and entertainment production.

Experience managing cross‑functional teams and external vendors.

Skilled at building detailed run‑of‑shows and technical scripts, with the ability to adapt on the fly during live events.

Budget management experience, including planning, tracking, and reporting.

Creative mindset with a passion for live storytelling and audience engagement.

Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the game and event schedule.

Must legally be able to work in Canada.
