Estimator/Project Manager – Commercial HVAC

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Estimator/Project Manager who seamlessly blends technical HVAC estimating with hands-on project management. In this role, you will be the linchpin between the sales team, field staff, and the customer. You will be responsible for analyzing project scopes, building accurate estimates, procuring materials, and managing the project lifecycle from proposal to closeout. The ideal candidate is a Servant Leader who requires minimal supervision and is driven by a mentality of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities: Estimating:

Meet with customers and Account Managers to gather site requirements; analyze blueprints, control drawings, and technical documents to build accurate, value-driven estimates and proposals. Project Execution:

Order and verify all project materials and equipment; proactively monitor project costs and progress to ensure profit margins are met or exceeded. Resource Management:

Coordinate project schedules and assign field team members based on their specific skills and the needs of the project. Change Management:

Identify out-of-scope work, generate change orders, and secure necessary approvals to prevent workflow interruptions. Safety & Leadership:

Enforce all company and site-specific safety programs; provide clear communication and constructive feedback to field personnel. Project Closeout:

Manage the transmittal of job files for timely billing; ensure all startup sheets, equipment documentation, and warranties are completed and delivered to the customer.

Qualifications & Requirements: Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of proven, successful experience in the Commercial HVAC industry, which must include a blend of estimating, field work, and supervision. Education:

High school diploma or GED required; formal Vocational or Technical school training is highly preferred. Skills:

Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications; intermediate proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing. Characteristics:

Highly organized self-starter, strong collaborative problem solver, and an excellent communicator capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously. Availability:

Must be willing to work occasional overtime and be accessible during extended hours to support project needs.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements: Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in diverse physical environments, including high commercial rooftops, confined spaces, and outdoor weather extremes. Must be able to balance desk-based estimating work with the physical demands of job site walks (standing, walking, bending, stooping).
