**Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an *Aircraft Maintenance Programs Engineer (Contract)* to join our Engineering department based in Mobile, AL.
The Aircraft Maintenance Programs Engineer works within a group of maintenance programs engineers on assigned cabin and cargo, structures, and zonal tasks with the purpose to develop, challenge, identify, and select necessary Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, airworthiness limitations, and maintenance requirements for Airbus commercial programs. The Maintenance Programs Engineer supports America's regional customer airlines and also participates in Maintenance Review Board and Type Certification exercises.

*The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.
*Develop the maintenance program for Airbus aircraft through common industry standards and the associated company processes and engineering tools
* Represent Airbus in operator meetings, technical conferences, international industry conferences and working groups
* Provide high-quality responses and assist with regular airline queries within a given target date
* Support Customer Airlines maintenance specific needs as they arise in the Americas region i.e. maintenance planning, optimizations, etc.
* Collaborate with other Airbus aircraft maintenance teams/departments to support the Customer Airlines and maintenance engineering activities
* Review aircraft modifications, vendor manuals, and industry directives; understanding the impacts to the specific aircraft systems and structures within the frame of maintenance programs engineering
* Support operator maintenance deviation requests via MSG-3 Analysis, in-service data, and engineering judgement
* Ensure transfer of in-service experience to design offices ensuring continuous improvement of in-service fleets and for new aircraft programs
* Improve the product reliability, maturity, and residual value of Airbus aircraft
* Keep a close relationship with Airworthiness Authorities and the maintenance engineering departments at the other Airbus sites
* Provide maintenance engineering advisement to other Customer Services divisions, as well as to other Airbus directorates (sales, marketing, certification)
*Bachelorโs Degree in Engineering. (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical or Civil Engineering)
* ~10% travel (Domestic and International) involved
* Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license), Authorized to work in the US.
* Ability to read/write/speak English.
* Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with both internal and external customers in a professional manner.
* Displays model writing skills for others to emulate
* Minor in Computer Science
* Experience in the aircraft customer service field (Airline experience, MRO experience, Maintenance experience, etc.)
* Data analysis
*Onsite or remote: 100% onsite.
* Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings - part of daily job
* Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms - part of daily job
* Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment - part of daily job
* Carrying: able to carry documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. - Lifting: able to lift documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. - Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. - Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. - Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office areas including uneven surfaces. - Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license)
**This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.**
