Hours:
9-hour workday (8 hours onsite + 1-hour lunch), Monday–Friday; evenings/weekends required for family events and volunteer activities
Role Summary
The
Parent & Volunteer Engagement Coordinator
is responsible for building and sustaining strong relationships with RCCYC’s two most important partners:
parents/guardians and volunteers .
This role leads RCCYC’s
parent/guardian engagement efforts , ensuring families are welcomed, informed, and supported as active participants in their children’s growth. At the same time, the Coordinator
recruits, trains, and coordinates volunteers
from Eastern Star Church ministries, corporate partners, schools, and community organizations.
By combining parent engagement and volunteer coordination, this role strengthens RCCYC’s
culture of partnership and service , ensuring children and youth experience consistent, holistic support.
Key Responsibilities
Parent/Guardian Engagement
Serve as the
primary liaison to families , ensuring clear and consistent communication.
Develop and lead parent orientation sessions and ongoing workshops.
Create opportunities for parents/guardians to engage in volunteer service and family-focused events.
Provide resources and referrals that support family needs, in alignment with RCCYC’s mission.
Collect feedback from parents/guardians to inform program improvement.
Volunteer Recruitment & Management
Recruit volunteers from church ministries, community partners, businesses, and schools.
Conduct orientations and trainings, ensuring volunteers understand RCCYC’s mission, policies, and youth protection standards.
Manage volunteer schedules, placements, and coverage needs in coordination with RCCYC staff.
Maintain accurate records of background checks, service hours, and training completions.
Recognize and celebrate volunteers through appreciation events and initiatives.
Partnerships & Community Engagement
Build strong connections with ESC ministries to encourage member involvement.
Partner with schools, businesses, and organizations for group volunteer service.
Support the Center Director and leadership team in planning and hosting family and community events.
Administration & Reporting
Manage budget lines related to parent engagement and volunteer programming.
Track and report parent participation and volunteer service hours to the Center Director.
Prepare monthly updates on parent and volunteer engagement activities.
Qualifications
Required
Associate’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, human resources, education, or related field; or equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience in volunteer coordination, family engagement, or community outreach.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to build relationships with diverse families, church ministries, and community partners.
Ability to work
100% onsite, 9 hours daily (8 hrs onsite + 1 hr lunch)
with flexibility for evenings/weekends.
Preferred
Experience in youth-serving organizations.
Familiarity with volunteer management or CRM systems.
Bilingual skills a plus.
Certifications/Requirements
Background check clearance.
CPR/First Aid (attainable within 60 days).
Mandated Reporter training.

Growth in the number and diversity of volunteers engaged annually.
High volunteer and parent satisfaction/retention rates.
Accurate and timely tracking of parent engagement and volunteer hours.
Positive feedback from staff, families, and community partners.
