Job Description
The Dental Laboratory Sales Representative is responsible for driving new business growth and maintaining strong relationships with dental offices, specialists, and DSOs within an assigned territory. This role focuses on consultative selling, customer retention, and revenue growth while serving as a trusted partner to clients and an extension of the laboratory's service team. This position reports to our Dental Laboratory Sales Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Prospect, identify, and develop new business opportunities with general dentists, specialists, and DSOs.
Promote the full portfolio of dental laboratory products and services, including restorative, digital, and orthodontic solutions.
Achieve individual sales targets, revenue goals, and activity KPIs as set by the Sales Manager.
Conduct in-office presentations, product demonstrations, and case consultations to educate clients on laboratory capabilities and workflows.
Manage and grow an assigned sales territory through consistent outreach, follow-up, and relationship building.
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain long-term relationships with dental professionals by providing exceptional service and support.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding product offerings, pricing, and service inquiries.
Gather client feedback and communicate insights to the Sales Manager and internal teams to improve service and offerings.
Support onboarding of new accounts and ensure smooth transitions to production and customer service teams.
Collaboration & Operations
Work closely with the Sales Manager, customer service, production, and logistics teams to ensure accurate case submission and timely delivery.
Assist in resolving customer concerns or service issues quickly and professionally.
Participate in ride-alongs, coaching sessions, and regular sales meetings with management.
Represent the company at trade shows, dental meetings, and industry events to generate leads and strengthen brand awareness.
Reporting & CRM Management
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM, including account activity, pipeline, and forecasts.
Provide regular sales updates and performance reports to the Sales Manager.
Track competitive activity and market trends within the territory.
Qualifications
3–5 years of outside sales experience; dental, dental lab, or medical sales experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of dental laboratory products, digital dentistry workflows, or restorative solutions, preferred.
Experience selling to dental practices, specialists, or DSOs, preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to build trust and credibility with dental professionals.
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within assigned territory.
