Director of Quality Assurance (QA)

Compensation:
$250,000 base salary + 30% bonus + RSUs
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic
Director of Quality Assurance
to lead and scale our QA function within a highly technical, data-intensive environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who combines deep technical expertise in automation and data validation with a proven ability to mentor teams and drive quality strategy across complex software systems.
You will oversee QA engineering initiatives across the full software stack — from databases and APIs to UI and backend services — ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance across our platform. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership capabilities, advanced automation experience, and a passion for building high-performing teams and sustainable testing frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, grow, and mentor a team of QA engineers, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Define and execute the organization’s QA strategy, standards, and best practices.
Design and implement scalable automated testing frameworks across multiple system layers.
Oversee validation of large and complex datasets, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and reliability.
Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of defects across distributed systems.
Ensure comprehensive testing coverage across databases, APIs, UI, and backend services.
Partner with engineering, product, and data teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Decompose complex automation challenges into scalable, maintainable solutions.
Establish performance, reliability, and release readiness standards across the organization.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience leading and scaling QA engineering teams, ideally in data-heavy or technology-driven environments.
Expert-level proficiency with Selenium, Python, and modern test automation frameworks.
Strong track record working with large, complex datasets, including data validation and root-cause analysis.
Broad experience testing across multiple layers of the software stack (databases, APIs, UI, backend services).
Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable, maintainable automation solutions.
Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with a strong focus on mentorship and team development.
