Job Description
The Recruitment Specialist works alongside the Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition and ensures that the organization attracts and hires top talent. The Recruitment Specialist plays a critical role in streamlining recruitment processes, improving candidate experience, aligning recruitment strategies with organizational needs, and acting as an employer brand ambassador to attract top talent for Charter One and its affiliated businesses.
Role and Responsibilities
Manage and mentor a team of Talent Acquisition Coordinators
Work with HR Team and Department Heads to develop recruitment plans to achieve required staffing levels.
Develops and maintains professional relationships with college, university and community college placement offices as a source to generate qualified applicants and student teachers.
Directs the efforts of employment agencies and search firms as needed.
Maintain professional relationships with visa sponsorship agencies.
Provides information on company operations and job opportunities to potential applicants.
As needed, provides initial applicant screenings to obtain work history, education, training, job skills and salary requirements.
Attend career fairs to build a strong talent pipeline and help with brand recognition
Manage Head Hunting Searches
Conducts reference checks.
Manage job related email accounts.
Maintains records on recruiting activities as required.
Create turn over reports yearly for each school
Run audits to ensure degrees and certifications of employees are up to date and accurate
Manages multiple applicant tracking systems and keeps postings up to date.
Assesses career fair and recruitment season success to help evaluate effectiveness.
Be able to create and manage job descriptions
Assists in overseeing the Learning Management System (Cornerstone)
Provide a reliable point of contact for all learning and development matters
Prepare or select any learning and development material or programs required by the learner/trainer
Creates opportunities for professional development, individualized training, and coaching that support recruitment and retention
Enters data and maintains access for employees in our LMS
Helps compile reports on training and development programs
Produce and maintain accurate records of learning and development activity in compliance with procedures
Support the Talent Acquisition team in achieving their development goals
Provide administrative support to the wider Talent Acquisition team where required
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to lead, train, and evaluate a team
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) such as Indeed and Linkedin Recruiter
Strong computer skills preferred (G Suite, Microsoft Office)
Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and hiring managers to align talent acquisition efforts with organizational goals.
Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with external vendors, staffing agencies, and potential candidates.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with candidates, hiring managers, and senior leadership.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Required Qualifications:
2 years of recruiting experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing a team
Bachelors in HR or related field
