SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced
Assistant Electrical Superintendent
in our Power Delivery Services Group with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Aptitude to anticipate problems, critical issues, and opportunities as they arise; along with the capability to creatively problem-solve and bring together viable solutions. This individual will provide coordination and supervision of electricians and crews on solar project sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate work projects within the electrical scope of the solar site
Partner with Electrical Superintendent in electrical material, equipment sizing, and site utilization plan
Work with Electrical Superintendent in development of project schedules and updates, and creation of 3-week look-ahead
Ensure work teams have needed resources and support
Supervise and ensure quality control of work team, including self-performed and subcontracted work
Attend and participate in project meetings, act as liaison between field engineers and contractors or craft workers to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
Supervise and provide leadership for electrical team
Coach, mentor, and train crafts
Establish and nurture teamwork environment, promoting inclusivity and valuing diversity
Monitor work progress and performance of crafts, forepersons, and subcontractors
Implement and monitor Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program at project site
Lead subcontractors and suppliers for the project
Supervise budget and make recommendations for subcontractors and trade partners
Lead project buyout with subcontractors and trade partners
Facilitate and lead meetings between subcontractors for project coordination
Perform on-site Project Manager duties on small scope projects
Implement a quality plan ensuring customer’s specified performance criteria in design and construction
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
Minimum five years construction/supervision experience, working with medium and high voltage projects
Experience with self-perform projects
Current driver’s license
Ability to travel up to 100%

The base pay range for this role is $102,900 - $154,400.
(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
