Sewing Machine Operator

Sovereign America Industries currently has an immediate opening for an experienced Industrial Sewing Machine Operator. The Industrial Sewing Machine Operator will operate and tend sewing machines to perform sewing operations on various materials. This includes joining, reinforcing, and finishing various parts and materials. This person will receive job specific training and ultimately be required to join a variety of large format materials. Sound hand-eye coordination and the ability to cope with moderate physical effort will be necessary. Mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn is necessary. Essential Functions: Perform various sewing operations, including joining, reinforcing and finishing on a variety of different types of materials. Visually inspect subassemblies and finished goods per quality standards. Layout and cut materials using patterns, scissors, and/or cutting equipment. Ability to follow instructions provided verbally, in writing, or in diagrams. Maintain a clean, neat, orderly, and safe work area. Strong math and measurement skills with the ability to read fractions. Report issues or concerns to leadership, as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: 6 months of experience in industrial sewing or as a mechanical technician. Basic knowledge of industrial stitching equipment such as walking foot and double needle machines. Strong attention to detail. U. S. citizen. Strong desire to learn. Solid interpersonal and communication skills. Must be willing to sign a company-issued Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as a condition of employment.
