Head of Technology // Greater Manchester

I am looking for a Head of Technology Operations to join a growing UK‑based organisation at a critical stage of development. This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to the Board, with responsibility for ensuring that technology systems, infrastructure, and governance effectively support business growth, operational efficiency, and security.The successful candidate will provide strategic direction and hands‑on leadership across IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data management, and supplier relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and develop the Technology / IT function, providing clear direction and accountabilityDefine and deliver the organisation's technology and IT operations strategyAct as a trusted advisor to the Board, presenting technology risks, opportunities, and investment casesDrive continuous improvement through the adoption of appropriate technologiesTechnology OperationsOversee day‑to‑day IT operations, ensuring systems are reliable, scalable, and fit for purposeMaintain and improve performance, availability, and resilience of infrastructure, networks, applications, and data platformsEnsure effective patching, backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity processesCybersecurity & Data GovernanceEstablish, maintain, and enforce cybersecurity and data protection policiesEnsure robust security controls and compliance with relevant regulatory and governance requirementsProactively manage cyber risk and respond to emerging threatsManage third‑party technology suppliers, contracts, and service level agreementsEnsure value for money and service quality from external partnersCollaborate closely with senior stakeholders across the businessEssential Experience & SkillsProven experience in a senior IT or technology leadership roleStrong background in IT operations, infrastructure, and data managementDemonstrable experience leading and developing technical teamsIn‑depth understanding of modern information systems, databases, and enterprise technologiesStrong analytical and problem‑solving capabilityExcellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging at Board levelThis is an office based role, and the client is looking to book interviews ASAP.
