Investment Director

The Investment Director will play a senior, hands-on role within a growing renewable energy developer, responsible for overseeing investment activity across the portfolio while acting as the primary interface with investors. The role combines investment oversight, investor reporting and relations, and corporate strategy, and is well suited to someone comfortable operating in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.This position will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to support capital allocation, portfolio performance, and long-term growth strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestment & Portfolio OversightLead investment appraisal for new development opportunities, including financial modelling, risk analysis, and return assessmentOversee project-level and portfolio-level financial models, ensuring assumptions align with development and delivery realitiesSupport investment decisions from early-stage development through construction and into operationsMonitor portfolio performance against investment cases and recommend corrective or value-enhancing actionsInvestor Reporting & Relations (Core Focus)Own all investor reporting, including quarterly reports, dashboards, and performance updatesAct as a key point of contact for existing and prospective investorsPrepare and present materials for Board and investor meetingsEnsure clear, transparent communication of performance, risks, pipeline progress, and strategyCorporate Strategy & Capital ManagementSupport the development and execution of the company’s corporate strategyAssist with capital raising activities, including equity discussions and investor materialsEvaluate strategic initiatives such as partnerships, acquisitions, or portfolio optimisationWork closely with senior management to align investment strategy with business objectivesCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with development, engineering, commercial, and finance teams to ensure alignment between projects and investment assumptionsSupport governance, compliance, and internal controls appropriate for an investor-backed platformCandidate ProfileExperienceSignificant experience in infrastructure or renewable energy investment, ideally within a developer, IPP, fund, or PE-backed platformStrong exposure to small-scale or mid-market projects, preferably in the UKDemonstrated experience in investor reporting and stakeholder managementExperience across the investment lifecycle, from origination and appraisal through to asset management and exitSkills & AttributesStrong financial modelling and analytical capabilityCommercial mindset with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear investor-facing outputsComfortable working in a small, fast-moving organisation with limited hierarchyStrong communication and presentation skillsProactive, hands-on, and solutions-orientedWhy This Role?Senior, visible role with direct exposure to investors and leadershipOpportunity to shape reporting, strategy, and investment disciplineBroad remit beyond pure investing, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and responsibilityChance to help scale a growing renewable energy platform #J-18808-Ljbffr
