We drive best practice in engagement, community relations, consultation and stakeholder management in the delivery of some of the country’s largest infrastructure projects as well as delivering expertise within the water, health, energy and environmental sectors. Within our Land, Instructure Planning and Engagement business unit, you will manage public consultation and engagement activity and act as a trusted client advisor. You will also be responsible for working collaboratively with colleagues across WSP to deliver engaging communications. Delivering meaningful communication and engagement activity to help our clients deliver infrastructure projects around the UK by drafting and delivering effective stakeholder engagement strategies. Help communities and stakeholders understand projects and how it may impact them by writing easy‑to‑understand communications and managing design and printing processes. Give people opportunities to ask questions and provide feedback through publishing communications, organising events and running surveys. Present feedback to help projects develop in a responsible way by understanding and interpreting data and presenting themes, key issues and managing the reporting process. Support clients based in the UK and internationally by providing communication and engagement advice and activities such as developing virtual consultation rooms, posters, banners, public‑facing maps and community engagement events. Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver effective communication and engagement activity. Manage projects ensuring that your timeline, budget and resources are delivered for your client. Your team You will be joining a UK‑wide team of 60+ communication and engagement specialists who are passionate about what we do. Reporting to the Engagement Regional Team Lead, you will be a key member of the team managing existing projects and client relationships and helping to build new partnerships. You will be based in one of our key offices where the space is designed to provide an exceptional working environment and a collaborative culture. The office is centrally located within walking distance of public transport. We offer flexible working with a number of team days in person mixed with working from home days. Preferred Qualifications / Education Demonstrated experience delivering communication and engagement activity on multi‑disciplinary infrastructure projects. At least degree‑qualified or equivalent. Experience in the road, rail, utilities, water, environment or energy sectors. Preferred Competencies Strong team player who is enthusiastic and motivated. Proven experience of effectively managing and building stakeholder relationships. Excellent communication skills, including writing engagement strategies and reports. Well‑ordered, structured approach to delivery of tasks, with flexibility to adapt within a demanding and fast‑changing environment. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage a varied workload. Membership of a relevant professional or trade body is desirable.
