The Opportunity
As Director of Sales for Finovate & FinTech Futures, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering our global strategy and driving long‑term sustained growth of our revenue ambitions. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you’ll develop and execute a comprehensive global sales strategy that drives significant revenue growth while building and leading a world‑class sales organisation.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership
Develop an ambitious high‑growth global sales strategy for the next 5 years with clear goals and milestones.
Create and implement tactical sales plans that align with the Fintech Vertical’s broader business objectives.
Identify new revenue streams and market opportunities to expand the Finovate and FinTech Futures brands.
Serve as a senior member of the leadership team supporting the ongoing development of our global fintech brands.
Team Development & Management
Build, assess and develop a world‑class sales team to deliver on strategic objectives.
Ensure teams are fully staffed, clearly briefed, trained and developed globally.
Coach and develop sales teams in conjunction with the Fintech Vertical’s sales leadership programmes.
Set ambitious targets and goals for the sales organisation that support your strategy and corporate objectives.
Sales Operations & Performance
Establish robust processes globally to efficiently manage and report on sales activities including Salesforce implementation, lead generation and pipeline management.
Deliver comprehensive financial reporting on a rolling weekly basis with emphasis on accurate forecasting.
Identify core activities required to maintain performance and track weekly management of sales metrics and KPIs.
Act decisively to maximise revenue opportunities and mitigate potential shortfalls.
Client Relationship Management
Serve as the senior face of sales globally with key accounts and develop world‑class client management practices.
Personally manage strategic client relationships at the C‑suite level.
Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Content, Operations) to ensure all activities enhance customer experience.
Drive market and customer insights back into the business for new product development and brand improvement.
Qualifications
Experience
10+ years of progressive sales experience, preferably in events, media or financial services sectors.
Proven track record in global sales leadership with demonstrable success in revenue growth.
Experience managing and developing high‑performing sales teams across multiple regions.
Strong background in B2B sales with experience selling to financial institutions and technology companies.
Experience growing marketing services revenue and events.
Skills & Abilities
Excellent ability in understanding and interpreting financial and sales data.
Recognised as a sales process expert with advanced pipeline management capabilities, especially in Salesforce.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills with ability to influence at senior executive levels.
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and market awareness.
Ability to thrive in a high‑performing, fast‑paced environment and handle high‑pressure situations.
Personal Attributes
Sales and target‑driven with a positive attitude and high self‑motivation.
Open to ongoing feedback with a willingness to learn and develop.
Customer‑focused with ability to build and maintain relationships at the most senior levels.
Flexible and adaptable to changing market conditions and business priorities.
Additional Requirements
Willingness to travel globally throughout the year as required.
Experience in the fintech, financial services or payments industry highly desirable.
