AWS Data Architect As a AWS Data Leader, you are a visionary at the intersection of technology, strategy and business growth. This is more than a technical architecture role; you will act as a senior advisor to our clients, a thought leader for Slalom and a commercial driver for our Data & Technology Capability. We are looking for an expert who can not only design world class AWS data platforms but can also articulate their business value in the boardroom, inspire delivery teams and shape the future of our AWS partnerships. What will you do? Practice Strategy & Thought Leadership Shape and drive Slalom’s AWS cloud, data, and AI strategy, developing new commercial offerings and methodologies to maintain our competitive edge. Act as Slalom's public voice and thought leader for AWS Data & AI; present at industry conferences, publish white papers, and build our brand in the marketplace. Identify and interpret key market trends and client needs to guide the evolution of our practice and our go‑to‑market strategy. Client Advisory & Delivery Excellence Lead multiple, complex client engagements, guiding large program teams to deliver enterprise‑scale, AI‑enabled data solutions on AWS. Serve as the lead technical and strategic advisor for senior client stakeholders, translating their business objectives into multi‑phased, modern data strategy roadmaps. Oversee solution architecture, delivery quality, risk management, and financial performance across your portfolio of engagements, ensuring we deliver tangible business impact. Commercial Growth & Pre‑Sales Leadership Partner with our client and sales teams to drive new business; lead pre‑sales activities, including opportunity identification, RFI/RFP responses, and client presentations for our most strategic AWS and AI opportunities. Develop compelling commercial proposals and statements of work, clearly articulating the value proposition and ROI of proposed solutions to C‑suite executives. Build and nurture executive‑level client relationships, becoming a trusted partner they turn to for strategic data challenges. What You’ll Bring Expertise in translating complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and effective data architectures (e.g., Data Mesh, Data Fabric, Data Vault, Dimensional Modelling). 12+ years of experience architecting and delivering cloud, data, and AI solutions, with deep, demonstrable expertise in the AWS data platform (e.g., Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR, Kinesis, SageMaker). A proven track record in a client‑facing, commercially‑focused consulting role, with demonstrable success leading pre‑sales activities and shaping multi‑million‑pound technology programs. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to advise C‑suite executives and articulate the business value of technical solutions. Experience leading, designing, and implementing enterprise‑wide Cloud Data strategies, including the creation of compelling, multi‑phased implementation roadmaps. Advanced understanding of modern data management and governance concepts (Data Quality, Metadata Management, Master Data Management). Demonstrated success in developing practice offerings, methodologies, or accelerators for cloud, data, or AI/ML. Recognised thought leader in AWS, data architecture, and AI/ML enablement (publications, conference speaking) is highly desirable. Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty) are strongly preferred.
