Responsible for overseeing design delivery, mentoring engineers, and ensuring compliance with and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate electrical design for HV substation projects (SLDs, HV cabling layouts, protection systems). Review and approve technical studies (fault analysis, protection coordination). Ensure compliance with standards, BS EN and IEC regulations. Mentor and support design engineers within the team. Act as technical point of contact for clients and internal teams. Collaborate with project management, civil/mechanical teams, and site teams to deliver projects. Support tenders, procurement, value engineering and resolve design issues during installation/commissioning. Attend site visits and design review meetings. Requirements: Degree in Electrical Engineering. 5 years experience in HV electrical design (substations up to 132kV). Strong knowledge of standards, protection & control systems. Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, Amtech, ETAP. Leadership/mentoring experience. Full UK driving licence. Desirable: Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards.
