As an FRA Principal you will be operating as a senior manager, expected to support and lead as directed in the successful delivery of high‑quality FRA work commissioned through Bellrock brands. At Principal level you will support the Head of FRA in the delivery of the FRA projects, focusing on nurturing key client relationships, ensuring a true consultative approach, and enabling our clients to understand how to implement our findings. You will own key accounts and develop new opportunities through relationship building.
You will develop a firm grasp on the commercial levers to drive revenue and profitability, manage against attritional factors that can reduce gross margin, and help nurture the growth of the FRA Department. You will become knowledgeable in managing a P&L business unit and will mentor members of the FRA team and other fire safety teams through the coordination and delivery of CPD activities.
The role involves travel to job sites as required and attendance at regional offices on occasion. It includes a training/CPD day at least once per quarter, team bonding, and experience sharing. You will manage and plan your time, working with our project support team to meet client needs. The project support coordinator will handle admin side tasks.
Manage your teams to ensure compliance with the FRA process/competency framework, align with BS8674 requirements, and uphold correct time‑keeping and expense management. Assist in the management of the QC process, ensuring all SLA’s are adhered to.
How will you be the change?
Oversee the delivery of projects, providing and maintaining a technically compliant service and high‑quality deliverable.
Support and lead FRA dept implementation and ongoing management of the FRA process and competency framework.
Manage the day‑to‑day delivery of work to meet prescribed utilisation rates.
Work an average of 3 days on site per week, focusing on HRB/Complex buildings.
Ensure all reports are written to SLA requirements and presented to a high standard.
Proactively support SLA requirements on QC processes.
Develop key client accounts and act as their professional and trusted point of contact.
Act as the focal point for project engagements and ensure successful delivery.
Engage with clients within your portfolio, holding regular meetings at least once a month.
Manage client meeting agendas and trackers to monitor portfolio performance.
Maintain profitability and gross margin of work delivery.
Assist in creating and developing reporting outputs, survey methodologies and project management tasks.
Support sustainable service growth, statutory compliance, governance, client and staff retention, and client base development.
Support colleague development to enable their skill growth.
Adhere to the FRA process and competency frameworks, aligning with BS8674 requirements.
Ensure frameworks are adhered to by team members and install BS8674 requirements across teams.
Act in a professional manner with correct ethical traits.
Adhere to expenses and driving policies; overnight stays require line manager approval.
Adopt FRA team ‘new ways of working’ as part of the process framework.
Complete bi‑annual PDRs/Monthly 121s for team members.

Professional membership at Member level with a fire‑related professional body.
At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in managing teams.
Sound knowledge of fire safety and fire risk, with a minimum of 5‑years’ experience including FRAs.
Already on the Tier 3 FRA NAFRAR.
A level 5 qualification (fire‑related), or studying towards it.
Ability to undertake the full range of Type 1‑4 FRAs.
Working towards membership level with the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE).
