JOB DESCRIPTION Role Title: Credit Union Manager Location: Cookstown, Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland Reporting to: Board of Directors Contract: Permanent, Full Time Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience Role Purpose The Credit Union Manager is responsible for the overall management, performance and regulatory compliance of the credit union. This role provides leadership to staff, implements the strategic direction set by the Board, and ensures the credit union operates in a financially sound, member-focused and fully compliant manner in line with Ulster Federation rules, PRA/FCA requirements, and legislative obligations. Key Responsibilities Governance & Leadership Implement Board-approved strategy and policies Act as principal point of contact with: Ulster Federation Regulators (PRA/FCA) Auditors and external advisors Support the Board with accurate, timely management information Ensure effective internal controls and segregation of duties Promote a strong culture of integrity, accountability and member focus Financial & Operational Management Oversee day-to-day operations of the credit union Prepare and present: Management accounts Budgets and forecasts Financial performance reports Manage capital adequacy, liquidity and provisioning Oversee loan underwriting, arrears management and credit control Ensure safeguarding of members funds and assets Regulatory & Compliance Ensure compliance with: PRA prudential requirements FCA conduct rules Credit Unions (NI) Order Ulster Federation rules and guidance Oversee submission of: Quarterly and annual regulatory returns FCA complaints reporting Maintain effective policies for: AML/CTF complaints handling data protection Ensure prompt escalation of regulatory or material issues to the Board People Management Lead, manage and develop employees Ensure appropriate training, supervision and performance management Foster a positive, inclusive and member-centred working environment Ensure staffing levels and skills meet operational and regulatory needs Member & Community Focus Champion excellent member service Handle complex or escalated member issues and complaints Promote the credit union within the community Support growth in membership and product uptake, where appropriate Person Specification Essential Proven management experience Strong understanding of: Financial management Governance and internal controls Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn: Credit union regulation (PRA/FCA) Ulster Federation rules Experience preparing reports for Boards or Committees High levels of integrity, judgement and discretion Strong leadership and people-management skills Desirable Previous credit union experience Proven management experience within financial services, credit union, banking or similar.
