Your new role Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured English lessons aligned with the KS3 and KS4 curriculum. Teach a range of abilities, supporting pupils as they develop key skills in reading, writing, speaking, and analytical thinking. Use assessment effectively to monitor progress, identify gaps in learning, and inform future teaching. Work collaboratively with the English department, teaching assistants, and senior leaders to ensure high-quality provision across the key stages. Create a positive, stimulating classroom environment that inspires a love of literature and language and enables students to thrive. What you'll need to succeed Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS, ECT). Experience teaching in KS3/4 (placement experience considered). Strong understanding of phonics and early literacy development. A positive, child-centred approach to teaching. The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
