Digital Solutions Group is a team of passionate and meticulous designers, including specialist engineers from IT, Communications, Audio‑visual, Cyber Security, BMS and Building Automation expertise. Our engineering design work is a collaboration of experienced, industry‑leading specialists. We bring much‑needed visibility between the many building technology engineering disciplines on projects by promoting a collaborative methodology. We design connected buildings with a considered approach to facility and occupant user interfaces and a strategic approach to system integration, technology procurement, and optimisation through analytics. The Digital Solutions Group is made up of various specialist teams, including Audio‑visual, Cyber Security, BMS, ICT, and Digital Solutions. We are looking for a Specialist Cyber Security Principal Engineer. Wider Team The Wider Digital Solutions Team includes the following disciplines: ICT – Delivering the Digital Plumbing of ICT Infrastructure, including Passive Infrastructure, Active Network Design – e.g. Wi‑Fi & Wide Area Network Connectivity. Audiovisual – Delivering an Immersive Experience for the client, whether it’s a set of purpose‑built meeting rooms, an LED Wall or a Reception Installation. Smart Functionality – Providing smart functionality to a building, generating data‑rich building insights via multi‑functional sensors, reducing carbon, reducing the total cost of ownership or providing tenants with a community via advanced functionality. Cyber Security – Designing secure systems into new installations, reviewing current installations to mitigate risk accordingly. Working with landlords, developers, and project teams, we create flexible and expandable ICT solutions that achieve industry‑recognised certifications and transform a structure into a smart building. About The Role We require a Specialist Cyber Security Principal Engineer to work within the newly formed Cyber Security Specialist department with the following attributes: Consultancy Offering Ability to engage with a client and understand their needs & requirements. Solid report‑writing skills, and ability to convey new concepts in visual forms such as flow charts and topologies. Produce reports, specifications for tender, commissioning documentation, and design notes. Technical An in‑depth understanding of ICT Networks within Buildings, such as Commercial Office Buildings. An in‑depth understanding of Operational Technology (OT) within Buildings. An in‑depth understanding of the packages that interact with the ICT Network e.g. BMS & Control Systems. Metering & Monitoring. Security (CCTV & Access Control). Tenant Packages. Mobile Phone Boosting. Operational Technology (OT). Understanding of how Cyber Security will impact the ICT Network & the types for building systems above, relating e.g. Network Segmentation (e.g. Policy‑based Routing), Firmware Versions, Protocols (e.g. use of Secure Protocols). Recommend & support the client on how to set their network and building on a path to a more secure ecosystem. About You Experience as a principal engineer in consultancy, design and implementation, with a strong understanding of local regulations and industry best practices. Understanding of Revit and CAD, with the ability to navigate around a 3D model environment – though the Cyber Security role will not spend significant time within a modelling environment; client engagement and document creation will be the primary focus. Standard Desktop Applications such as MS Office 365. Confident client‑facing interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a team managing deadlines. Understanding of ICT & IoT principles.
