Interim Head for Surgical Services

Castlefield are partnering with an independent Hospital who are seeking a dynamic and experienced Interim to head up the Surgical Services to lead and oversee all aspects of our surgical operations. This pivotal role is responsible for the clinical, professional, and financial performance. Day rate subject to experience Contract likely around 3 months with possible extension Key Responsibilities: Lead the day-to-day management of operating theatres, recovery areas, Endoscopy, and Minor Ops. Collaborate with Consultants to improve theatre utilisation and streamline surgical workflows. Support the Endoscopy Lead in service development and achievement of JAG standards. Promote a positive, safety-first culture aligned with CQC and AfPP standards. Oversee workforce development, including mentoring and performance management of staff. Act as the Medical Devices Safety Officer (MDSO), ensuring safe and compliant device use. Contribute to strategic planning for service expansion and operational excellence. Monitor and manage budgets, resources, and service delivery performance.
