Head of SchoolLocation: South WalesStart Date: Immediate StartSalary: £60kTeacherActive are proud to announce that we are partnering with an outstanding ALN / SEN independent school organisation to place an outstanding Head of School in one of their thriving locations.Why This Role MattersAs Head of School, you will:Provide inspirational leadership that secures high-quality education for all pupilsDrive ambitious standards and tackle disadvantage to ensure equity and excellenceLead a culture of outstanding teaching, curriculum innovation and research-informed practiceCreate an open, collaborative environment where staff flourish and leadership capacity growsServe as Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the highest standards of child protection and wellbeingBuild strong partnerships with families, the community and external agenciesLead school improvement with clarity, accountability and measurable impactYou will be responsible for ensuring the school presents a clear and accurate picture of its performance to stakeholders including the Local Authority, Estyn, and the Welsh Government.We Are Looking For a Leader Who:Leads with integrity, resilience, optimism and moral purposeHas experience working within an independent ALN / SEN school associationSets uncompromisingly high expectations for pupils and staffHas a deep understanding of teaching, learning and curriculum designBuilds strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, staff and governorsUnderstands safeguarding responsibilities at the highest levelCan translate national policy into meaningful school improvementIs politically astute and strategically focusedChampions professional development and succession planningIs committed to continuous improvement and outward-facing collaborationSafeguarding CommitmentThe Head of School will act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, taking responsibility for safeguarding and child protection in line with statutory guidance.
