AMIC is expanding rapidly, and we are seeking to appoint a number of talented Engineers to join our Sustainable Polymer and Composite team. Due to sustained project growth and strong demand from industry, we are recruiting both Project Engineers and Senior Engineers, with opportunities available now and anticipated further needs over the coming year. This campaign will support multiple appointments and establish a pipeline of suitable candidates for future vacancies at both levels as AMIC continues to scale its advanced manufacturing capability. About the person: To be successful, candidates must have: Senior Engineer Composites Processing: Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, science, or a related discipline with significant relevant industrial experience OR minimum HND in a related engineering discipline with extensive recent and relevant industrial experience OR substantial practical experience in composite manufacturing, with demonstrable technical expertise. Demonstrable experience and in-depth understanding of engineering requirements and the appropriate selection and composite manufacturing processes ensuring the selected process techniques meet our customer's requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery and lead time. Evidence of applying process knowledge to develop or improve components, manufacturing methods or technologies, with measurable impact. Experience of using software packages to assist with the design, processing and testing of parts or fixturing in support of project delivery goals. Demonstrable evidence of working on a range of composite manufacturing projects including new process development and existing process improvement and the integration of composite materials into new and existing products. Project Engineer Composites Processing: Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, science, or a related discipline with relevant industrial experience OR minimum HND in a related engineering discipline with substantial recent and relevant industrial experience OR substantial practical experience in composite manufacturing, with demonstrable technical expertise. Practical experience in composite manufacturing (e.g. prepreg layup, resin infusion, RTM, or autoclave processing), including hands-on operation of processing equipment, with understanding of how process selection affects component quality, cost and delivery. Evidence of applying process knowledge within composite manufacturing projects, with contribution to process development or improvement activities. Experience of using software packages to assist with the design, processing and testing of parts or fixturing in support of project delivery goals. Experience with design for manufacturing concepts, including awareness of how part design affects manufacturing feasibility and quality. This is a 3 year fixed term post. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
