We are looking for a Head of Financial Control to join our Finance team. Having recently acquired 50+ gyms in the US, the group is recruiting a US-focused finance team to provide a robust financial control, reporting and budgeting function for US operations with revenue of approximately $130 million. The team will be based in the UK Head Office in Leeds alongside the UK and Group functions. This is a hybrid role based in Leeds office 3 days a week.
Responsibilities Leading the US Accounting, Accounts Payable and Payroll functions. Responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts, provision of accurate and robust financial and operating data to support stakeholders of the US business.
Maintenance of a robust financial control environment, managing a smooth year end audit and local US tax compliance.
Leading a team of 3-4 people, covering the Accounting, Accounts Payables and Payroll functions for the US Operation.
Review & finalisation of the US management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
Review & finalisation of budgets and reforecasts
Review of capex reporting and fixed asset registers
Partnering with budget holders to assist in managing expenditure
Liaison with the wider business as needed to support their understanding of financial results
Management of the Accounts Payable function, adherence to the group's DoA and approval of supplier payment runs
Cash management for US Operations including authorisation of payments, account reconciliations, preparation of cashflow statements and forecasts
Implementation of robust financial control processes in line with Group best practices and ongoing maintenance/improvement
Responsibility for year-end audit in-scope for Group US areas
Responsibility for accurate and timely local US tax compliance
Involvement in other ad hoc areas/projects as requested
Other reasonable duties or attendance at meetings as required
The Person Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with 4+ years PQE and proven experience delivering monthly accounting
Passionate about PureGym and understands how the accounting function can best serve wider business needs

Hands-on and able to work on own initiative, but also able to lead and motivate a team to meet key deadlines
Strong relationship-building skills across and outside the business

Experience in managing a team including setting objectives, delivering appraisals, and managing performance
Excellent Excel skills
Experience with Medius, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and IBM Planning & Analytics is advantageous but not essential
