Job Description
Insight Global are looking for a R&D Electrical Engineer to join one of their Large Oil and Gas Clients. This will be a long-term contract (Inside IR35), with the potential to extend. You will be sitting in their office located in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Day-to-day:
- Applies functional specifications and uses engineering tools to design hardware, electronic circuits, control systems or algorithms for new development and existing products.
- Uses software tools or applications to analyse and conduct tests on electronics circuits or systems and document performance in comparison with design criteria.
- Identifies the testing requirement at a component, integration and system level with the emphasis on complying with test standards.
- Generate test procedures, conduct test and generate reports.
- Performs both engineering calculations and various statistical analysis as required.
- Develop and documents process flows, tooling, jigs, fixtures, test equipment, procedures, etc. using appropriate engineering tools.
- Support technology transfer, product support for manufacturing and operations
- Support the Engineering Change process.
- Promotes and contributes to a cohesive team environment and maintains open lines of communication with all levels of the Organisation.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
Experience:
- Analog and Digital electronics circuit design.
- Evaluation and Testing of electronic systems at all stages of development.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosis of prototype and Production Tools.
- Engineering design calculations and analysis.
- PCB schematics and layout design using Altium software or similar.
- High Temperature and rugged electronics designs.
- PC Software and Embedded firmware / microcontroller programming using C programming.
