Who Weāre Looking For.
Weāre now looking for a new Board Member to join us at an exciting time in our journey. This is an opportunity to contribute your skills, insight, and passion to an organisation that values collaboration, fairness, and social impact. Board Members play a vital part in ensuring Coāop Homes remains strong, stable, and focused on the future by shaping our strategic direction, ensuring good governance, and supporting decisions that enable us to deliver for our communities.
This is a generalist role; you donāt need prior Board or housing association experience. What matters most is your ability to think strategically, work collaboratively, and share our values. Weāre looking for people who can bring diverse perspectives and life experience, and who are motivated by making a real difference to peopleās lives. You might have experience in community development, finance, housing, business, or the public or voluntary sectors, or simply have a strong interest in helping communities thrive. You do not need to bring existing board experience, but we are looking for someone who is āboard readyā, meaning that you will have senior decisionāmaking experience and a good understanding of the role of a board. We encourage applications from people who combine relevant expertise with lived experience of social housing or experience of living in a housing coāoperative. We would also welcome applications from people belonging to groups which tend to be underrepresented in board positions.
What you will do:
Contribute to the strategic direction of Coāop Homes and the wider RHP Group.
Ensure that our work supports our charitable purpose.
Help maintain the organisationās financial stability, sustainability, and longāterm success.
Support and challenge the Senior Management Team, offering insight, advice and constructive scrutiny.
Uphold our commitment to robust governance, transparency, equal opportunity, and diversity.
Champion our values and help shape a culture that reflects our social purpose.
Why Join Us?
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible impact on peopleās lives, develop your strategic thinking, and gain valuable boardālevel experience in a supportive environment. Youāll work alongside experienced colleagues who are passionate about creating better places to live and building resilient communities.
This is a paid opportunity, with an annual salary of £3,000.
