Job Description
Key Responsibilities May Include :
Ensure accurate and timely preparation, filing and payment of all tax returns, maintaining compliance with local and international tax regulations.
Lead tax audits, develop defense strategies and mitigate risks to achieve favorable outcomes with tax authorities.
Manage and develop the regional tax team, providing coaching, mentorship and development opportunities to drive high performance.
Drive automation and process improvement initiatives, implementing tax technologies (e.g., Vertex SAP) to enhance efficiency and reduce manual processes.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Finance, Procurement, Operations) to provide tax‑related guidance and ensure effective decision‑making on tax matters.
Stay updated on regional tax regulations and legislative changes, ensuring the business remains compliant and proactively adapts to new requirements.
Lead the review and analysis of tax data and reports, ensuring accurate tax accounting and compliance with internal and external standards.
Partner with cross‑functional teams to support business objectives, including identifying and managing tax risks and opportunities.
Senior Manager Direct Tax
Full‑time permanent. Hybrid (at least once a week in office) in Weybridge.

As a key player on the European Tax Team you will oversee direct tax strategies and transfer pricing, ensuring compliance whilst providing tax advisory services. You will also be responsible for a team of specialists and fostering their development.
As a Senior Manager Direct Tax at CHEP you will manage our Europe’s tax obligations and payments, balancing in‑house expertise with outsourced resources and maintaining relationships with local tax advisors. You’ll also monitor compliance filing statuses and indirect tax legislation while guiding business and finance teams.
Your mission involves filing important disclosure forms for intercompany arrangements and evaluating and rolling out new strategies.
In the thrilling world of business advisory you’ll be teaming up with finance specialists and outside consultants. In addition you’ll tackle audits head‑on and sprinkle in some process improvements for good measure. Do you offer…
7 years demonstrated experience in European direct tax advisory and compliance in a tax consulting role or within a multinational tax department.
Strong technical experience.
Demonstrable people management and development experience of at least 5 years.
Fully qualified accountant or recognised Tax qualification.
