Chief Technologist – AI Location: Ashton Vale, Bristol (Hybrid Working Arrangements) Contract: Full time / Permanent Compensation: Competitive Salary + Benefits Babcock International Group is working to create a safe and secure world. As a Chief Technologist – AI you will play a key role on our Ashton Vale, Bristol site, driving innovation across a global customer base, including the Ministry of Defence. The Role Lead the development of Mission Systems’ AI strategy, coordinating with the Global Director of AI & Data and the Babcock AI & Data Centre of Excellence. Build AI capability within the Software Engineering Discipline and work with the Chief Engineer community to ensure robust assurance of AI outputs. Participate in industry working groups, build strategic relationships with key AI technology partners, and support business development activities. Identify opportunities to inject AI into non‑AI projects, promoting and educating colleagues on AI topics. Maintain domain expertise through continuous professional development to keep Babcock at the forefront of AI in defence. Essential Experience Expert demonstrable experience in AI technologies and system development. Experience working in multi‑disciplinary engineering teams, ensuring issues, risks and opportunities are communicated and managed across specialisms. Ability to identify opportunities to exploit AI technologies for cutting‑edge solutions. Qualifications We value difference and do not require a fixed educational background.
