They’ve built a successful platform that’s already driving real results, now they’re investing heavily in tech to scale it further, expand their product offering, and move faster. It’s a chance to join a business with solid market traction, modern tech, and plenty of engineering challenges.They’re now hiring a Senior Software Engineer to develop and optimise their backend services. This is a hands-on role with scope to take ownership across the full software lifecycle; from design and development to testing, deployment, and ongoing performance tuning.You’ll be working as part of a cross-functional team alongside product managers, designers, and engineers across the stack. The engineering culture is pragmatic, fast-paced, and collaborative. This role reports to the Lead Software Engineer, and you will be given the chance to work hand in hand with key decision makers.The company operates a hybrid model from their St. Paul’s office, with 2 days a week expected onsite. The wider culture is sociable and team-oriented, with regular social events, daily breakfast, and a strong focus on employee wellbeing.What you’ll bring:Strong backend engineering experience with Node.js and TypeScriptHands-on experience with NestJS or a similar backend frameworkSolid understanding of both SQL (e.g. MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB) databasesFamiliarity with testing frameworks and good testing practicesExperience with Git, Postman or similar API toolsExposure to cloud environments, especially AWS, is beneficialBonus points for any experience with React, Next.js or legacy PHPWhat you’ll do:Build and maintain scalable backend services using NestJS and TypeScriptCollaborate with product and design teams to define and implement technical solutionsWrite clean, efficient, and reusable code to support long-term platform evolutionOptimise performance and ensure reliability of backend systemsContribute to testing, CI/CD workflows, and release processesStay current with modern backend practices and bring ideas to the tableAnnual leave starting at 24 days, increasing with tenure (up to 29)Enhanced parental leaveHealth cover via Medicash and dedicated wellness daysFlexible Fridays and a hybrid working policyAdditional perks: birthday day off, travel loan scheme, charity days, daily breakfast, and regular team socialsThis is a chance to join an organisation going from strength to strength.
