The CFO will be an integral member of our Trust leadership, with responsibility for the overall financial management and sustainability of Turner Schools. The CFO will lead financial strategy, capital budget planning, reporting, and compliance across the trust. The role includes responsibility for long-term financial planning, annual budgeting and in-year forecasting, statutory and regulatory reporting, audit coordination, risk management and the implementation of financial controls.
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Finance Officer will work closely with Executive Leaders, the Board of Trustees and key stakeholders to support informed strategic and operational decision-making. The Trust CFO will contribute to our 2030 strategy by advising on financial capability and ensuring resources are aligned with future goals.
The Ideal Candidate:
Qualified: ACA, CIMA, or ACCA with 5+ years in a senior strategic finance role.
Strategic: Proven business acumen and experience managing efficient central service functions.
Expertise: Deep understanding of the Academy Trust Handbook and ESFA requirements.
Communicator: The ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
Mindset: A precise, analytical and agile mind, creativity, strong interpersonal skills, plenty of drive and energy, and commitment to our Trust’s ethos.
