Position: Software Engineer, APEX Team

We’re entering an exciting new phase of our tech and product strategy, with a focus on innovation, experimentation, and conversion at the heart of everything we do. 🏡 What will your role be?

“The APEX team is the single source of truth for availability, price and extras across the entire group. Essentially, we determine whether a property is available for sale and identify any associated extra costs with that property. Much of this process currently relies on outdated legacy systems, which we are striving to eliminate and replace with a unified platform situated at the core of our operations, bringing everything together seamlessly."

Joining our engineering teams, you’ll join a culture which revolves around getting things done. We deliver with small, fully autonomous teams that have real ownership of their products using a cutting edge stack in a best-idea-wins meritocracy. We operate what we build – which means reliability is key and devops is part of every engineer’s job description.

Day-to-day you will:

• Work as part of a full stack product team responsible for building innovative products to ensure we continue to deliver optimal experiences for our guests and owners.
• Help shape the overall architecture and tech strategy for the APEX platform using the right technology for the task, rather than allowing the technology to dictate the solution.
• Contribute to driving best engineering practices such as CI/CD, TDD, cloud architectures and pair programming.
• Be an active member of the engineering and wider tech community within Awaze

🏡 Who are you?

We're looking for an experienced Engineer (back end focussed), with some (or all) of the following skills and an ability & willingness to learn would make you a great match to come and join us:

• Proficient in C# and .NET Core for building scalable, maintainable applications
• Experience developing and deploying cloud-native solutions on AWS
• Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform (or similar tools)
• Strong knowledge of key AWS services including Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and SNS
• Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) including schema design and query optimisation
• Knowledge of non-relational databases such as DynamoDB or MongoDB
• Demonstrated use of modern quality engineering practices, including pair programming, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD)
