Job Description
Head of Technology - London/Victoria - 5 days onsite - Full time £150,000 + bonus
We're working with a specialist security and intelligence consultancy operating across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, supporting government bodies, multinational organisations, and NGOs in complex, high-risk environments. The business sits at the intersection of technology, data, and intelligence, delivering high-impact, project-led work and is currently investing heavily to scale and mature its technology and data capability as it continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a data, analytics, and AI strategy aligned to business objectives.Partner closely with the Executive Team to shape and deliver the technology roadmap and service offering.Own the long-term technology roadmap, including prioritisation, resourcing, and investment planning.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, grow, and mentor a 14-person (and growing) technology team.Create a culture of collaboration, innovation, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement.Provide empathetic, values-driven leadership, supporting the development of technical specialists.
Delivery & Execution
Oversee the delivery of data and AI initiatives, ensuring quality, security, and alignment with business needs.Steer day-to-day technical execution supporting service delivery, including dynamic prioritisation of work.Ensure technology capabilities mature in line with a diverse and evolving project portfolio.
Security, Governance & Compliance
Develop and implement a Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) framework.Ensure alignment with information security and regulatory obligations.Demonstrate strong knowledge of:AI governance and ethics frameworks (OECD Principles, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, UK Data & AI Ethics Framework, EU AI Act)
Commercial & Partnerships
Work closely with the commercial team on business development, bids, and tenders, providing technical leadership and feasibility input.Contribute to costing models, solution design, and resource planning.Lead and manage third-party technology partnerships, including planning and integration where required.
Requirements
Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role, managing and developing technical teams.Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-growth environments, with a hands-on, "doer" mindset.Commercially astute, with experience contributing to proposals and client engagements.Strong communicator, able to operate credibly at Executive level.Experience working within a start-up, scale-up, or autonomous business unit.Strong technical foundation with a computer science background and experience in big data and AWS environments.
