Job Description
Join to apply for the Principal Consultant-Marine Planning role at GoBe Consultants Ltd.
Are you an experienced marine consultant ready to lead on some of the UK’s most exciting offshore renewable projects? Do you thrive on solving complex challenges, guiding clients through the consenting process, and building high-performing teams? This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of the offshore wind sector.
We’re looking for a Principal Consultant to join our Major Projects team at GoBe Consultants Ltd (part of the APEM Group). You’ll act as a trusted advisor to clients, working closely with consent managers, engineers, legal advisors, and regulators to deliver effective, practical solutions. You’ll also mentor junior consultants, shape project teams, and help drive strategic growth in this rapidly evolving sector.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
A degree (ideally MSc) in a relevant offshore/marine science discipline
Significant experience delivering marine EIAs and/or HRA for major offshore projects
A proven track record of providing technical assessments in offshore renewables or other marine development sectors
Strong project management experience, including financial and programme oversight
Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging with regulators, stakeholders, and clients
Ability to manage teams and review/quality assure complex deliverables
Leading multi-disciplinary teams and mentoring junior colleagues
Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (or working towards it)
Familiarity with the UK, ROI or Scottish planning process
Experience engaging with statutory regulators and stakeholders, particularly in Scotland
Confidence in problem-solving and developing innovative solutions
Experience on international projects and delivery of ESIA
At GoBe, you’ll join a consultancy with a strong track record in UK offshore wind projects. We combine technical expertise with a collaborative, people-first culture, offering a platform to develop your career while contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future. We offer flexibility, support, and opportunities to work on ambitious offshore renewable projects in the UK and internationally.
This is your opportunity to shape the future of offshore wind while growing your expertise and making a real impact.
You will be offered the chance to work on a variety of projects, with a commitment to continuous development and learning. We also offer benefits to look after you, including private medical insurance for all employees, access to mental health support, and comprehensive income protection. We offer flexible working options to balance work with your life.
