We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our Environmental Consents nationwide team to identify, win and deliver multi-disciplinary inputs to energy projects for a wide client base, contributing to landmark infrastructure that supports the UK’s Net Zero commitments.
You will be part of a team that includes technical environmental specialists and design colleagues, directing and leading environmental inputs to project designs and assessments, and improving environmental performance across a diverse range of projects.
What you will do Lead and deliver environmental components of engineering projects; manage recruitment, bidding, project delivery, and financials
Play a key role in expanding and diversifying the water sector offering, providing thought leadership and winning new business
Provide environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues
Collaborate with diverse environmental specialists, clients and engineering teams to promote sustainable design and environmental enhancement
Oversee large, complex projects, monitoring technical quality, programme, commercial performance and health & safety
Build client relationships and identify opportunities for resourcing, programming, strategy development and project delivery
Pursue new business opportunities, develop proposals, deliver strategic bids and framework opportunities, and pursue marketing opportunities
Contribute to innovative techniques (e.g., Digital EIA, Technical Excellence, Future Ready EIA) and drive performance improvement and career development across the team
Foster an inclusive workplace and uphold health, safety and wellbeing culture
Support the WSP business strategy and stay self-motivated toward goals relevant to the role and projects
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate Relevant environmental/planning degree or equivalent experience
Experience delivering EIA for major water schemes
Familiarity with Habitats Regulations Assessments, SSSI assessments
Strong knowledge of a broad range of environmental issues
Proven line management experience and ability to develop internal teams
Evidence of driving business growth and excellent verbal/written communication skills
