The Private Client Tax Director will lead the private client team in the Hertfordshire office, overseeing compliance in line with Practice Assurance standards and delivering high-quality advisory services. The role is central to the Advisory Tax leadership team, with opportunities for professional growth and expansion of services across Hertfordshire and neighbouring Home Counties. The role will provide strategic tax planning and advisory support to high-net-worth individuals and business owners ensuring a holistic approach to lifetime and succession tax planning.

Key Responsibilities
Driving strategic financial performance, ensuring profitability, effective budgeting, and optimal team chargeability.
Leading key client relationships, championing service excellence, and identifying opportunities to deliver long‑term value.
Building a high-quality proposition to attract new business opportunities.
Shaping the Firm’s people strategy, mentoring senior staff, fostering a high‑performing and inclusive culture, and driving strategic growth, innovation, and thought leadership.
Providing bespoke and complex advice across all areas of personal taxation.
Leading HMRC enquiry matters.
Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
ACA or CTA qualified or equivalent
High level of technical advisory expertise
Self‑starter capable of motivating, driving, and developing the team
Able to demonstrate relevant practical experience in Private Client tax planning
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels including excellent inter‑personal skills in dealing with clients in person and report writing, with the ability to explain and simplify highly technical point for clients to understand
Ability to provide excellent client care
Strong relationship building, networking, and business development skills
