This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and ambitious leader to take responsibility for the PE department in a school committed to academic excellence and high-quality teaching. The successful candidate will join a thriving department where PE is a popular subject across Key Stages 3 and 4, with numerous teams competing locally and a strong culture of staff collaboration and professional development.
The Role: Provide professional leadership and management for the PE department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning for all pupils.
Lead and develop a team of PE teachers, promoting excellent practice, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Manage curriculum planning, assessment, and resourcing for the department.
Monitor and evaluate teaching standards and pupil progress, setting ambitious targets for improvement.
Foster strong links with parents, the local community, and external partners to enhance the PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities.
Play a key role in promoting the wider aims of the school, including pupil wellbeing, safeguarding, and personal development.
The Candidate: The ideal applicant will be:
A qualified teacher with QTS and a strong track record in secondary PE teaching.
An effective and inspirational leader with experience in department management or curriculum leadership.
Passionate about PE and committed to raising student achievement and engagement.
A reflective practitioner who values collaboration, mentoring, and professional development.
