Description
At Samsung Cambridge Solution Centre (SCSC) we develop world-leading Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi connectivity solutions which are designed into a wide range of both mobile and non‑mobile applications worldwide.
The Architecture & Digital Design (ADD) team are involved throughout the product lifecycle and cover aspects such as Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi standards, product specification, systems algorithm design, hardware IP architecture, digital design & verification, radio optimisation, and customer support.
We are looking to hire an experienced hardware IP architect into the team who can help to identify and implement complex performance, power, and area (PPA) enhancements across our wireless IP solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Work with leaders, architects, and engineers across the business to scope and implement complex new features
Analyse existing features and identify potential PPA enhancements based on evolving customer requirements
Follow market trends and recognise opportunities for future innovative solutions
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Required
Detailed knowledge of modern SoC architectures including components such as processors, bus interconnects, DMA engines, and internal/external interfaces (AXI, AHB, PCIe, USB, UART etc.)
Excellent ability to author and maintain technical documentation, and proven ability to write reference material for a wide variety of stakeholders (e.g. designers, users, product owners etc.)
Strong IP modelling/prototyping capabilities which allow key architectural changes (e.g. processor, memory sizing, bus interconnects, clock frequencies etc.) to be adopted with maximum confidence
In depth knowledge of wireless system partitioning (e.g. software vs. hardware, firmware vs. host etc.)
Desired
Experience of wireless protocol operation, a good understanding of the key customer operating modes, and their impact on PPA optimisation
Experience with RISC CPU microarchitectures (including Arm A/R/M cores) and associated peripherals (e.g. interrupt controllers, cache controllers etc.)
Experience in SystemVerilog hardware design and/or embedded programming in C
Experience of hardware prototyping techniques
Experience with wireless security mechanisms and their impact on hardware architectures
Experience of digital signal processing (DSP), specifically the trade-offs between hardware/software, and the impact on RF circuit design
