Registered Manager – Children's Residential Service Location: Twyford, UK Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 Annually Type: Permanent, Full-time Are you ready for a rewarding leadership adventure? What you will do: - Lead the Ofsted registration process and establish the service to meet all regulatory and quality standards from inception. - Create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children with EBD, ensuring that they reach their full potential. - Recruit, train, and develop a dedicated, child-focused staff team that aligns with the organisational values and mission. - Develop and oversee care plans tailored to meet individual needs and incorporate therapeutic approaches. - Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and maintain the Quality Standards. - Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, fostering a strong culture of safeguarding and protection. - Cultivate strong working relationships with local authorities, external agencies, families, and community partners to promote a collaborative approach to care. - Lead inspections and provide robust responses to feedback from Ofsted and other governing bodies. - Inspire and guide the care team by providing clear direction and motivational leadership. - Handle budgets, resources, and occupancy levels to ensure ongoing efficiency and sustainability. Essential Requirements: - Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent. - At least two years of experience within a children's residential setting and a minimum of one year in a leadership or managerial role within a similar environment. - Comprehensive understanding of Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and the associated needs. - Proven success in achieving positive outcomes for children and young people. - Experience managing safeguarding issues and complex cases with sensitivity and professionalism. - Strong knowledge of the Ofsted framework and the Children’s Homes Regulations. Desirable: - Previous experience with Ofsted registration of a new children's home. - Background in creating policies, procedures, and frameworks from scratch, showcasing an entrepreneurial spirit. - Experience or certification in therapeutic or trauma-informed care approaches.
