This role offers an unparalleled opportunity to collaborate with some of the UK's most renowned lawyers, gain litigation experience across a broad range of disciplines, and work with major law firms and leading counsel to devise legal strategy.ResponsibilitiesBring private prosecutionsChallenge the Crown Prosecution Service when it fails to prosecute hate crimeSubject inadequate decisions by public bodies to judicial reviewSubmit regulatory complaints and advise regulatory bodiesBring and defend defamation casesWork with pro-bono legal experts and external counselDraft documents including correspondence, internal policies, particulars of claim, and witness statementsSupervise compliance with charity and data protection laws, assist with employment and contract questionsWhat you bringThe ideal candidate for the General Counsel position will bring a wealth of experience in litigation and working with senior legal teams.With at least four years' post-qualification experience as a solicitor or barrister, you have honed your skills in one or more fields such as:Crime (communications or public order), Regulatory law (professional conduct or charity law), Administrative law (judicial review), Defamation, Equality and human rightsExperience in litigation and working with senior legal teamsExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to prioritise effectively and respond quickly under pressureMeticulous organisational skillsWhat’s nextReady to make a significant impact?
