Principal Sustainability Consultant South West - Cardiff Role Benefits 9-day fortnight working pattern Inclusive community groups and active social networks Comprehensive technical and professional development programmes Private medical insurance Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme Share/stock options Up to 30 days' annual leave Key Responsibilities Lead sustainability workstreams and act as Discipline Project Lead Develop and manage project resource plans Prepare and deliver sustainability statements and reports for planning submissions Facilitate and lead client and multidisciplinary design team workshops with confidence Delegate, manage, and review work produced by junior team members Undertake or oversee Part L, Part O, overheating and energy modelling Undertake or oversee Environmental and wellbeing assessments (BREEAM, WELL, HQM) Undertake or oversee Whole life carbon assessments Undertake or oversee Net zero carbon strategies Undertake or oversee Operational energy analysis Contribute to Technical Excellence communities and support internal knowledge sharing Mentor and train junior colleagues across technical delivery, consultancy skills, and project management Candidate Requirements Advanced experience in building performance modelling, including Part L, Part O, and thermal comfort assessments Proven ability to lead sustainability workstreams and multidisciplinary project teams Demonstrated experience in mentoring and training junior staff Strong track record delivering environmental and wellbeing assessments Whole life carbon assessment experience (One Click LCA desirable) Experience supporting successful planning applications; knowledge of the Cardiff and London markets would be advantageous If you are interested in this role or other opportunities within Sustainability and Energy, please contact Caitlin Richards for further information.
