About the Business Unit
Our Heavy Civil Infrastructure Division delivers transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners around the globe. From business case preparation to delivery and maintenance, we cover the full project cycle and play a major role in the Global Transport Sector Strategy.
Overview of the Role
Lead complex, multi‑disciplinary projects that shape the future of transport and civil engineering infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to lead high‑performing teams, drive innovation, and influence the industry on projects worth millions.
Responsibilities
Lead profitable projects that deliver success for our clients and communities
Develop a collaborative delivery approach across project teams, supply chain, partners, and client teams
Deliver to budget, programme, and quality targets
Enhance client satisfaction
Undertake Project Reviews to foster continuous improvement and share lessons across projects
Accountability
Champion industry‑leading techniques to improve safety and customer service
Ensure delivery of projects to time, cost, and quality
Foster innovation in design, digital, and technical excellence
Prompt billing and payment processing
Monthly reporting on scheme progress
Deliver client requirements and maintain customer satisfaction
Candidate Specification
Extensive experience delivering major design projects as a Project Director or Manager (design fees > £5m), especially under Design & Build contracts
Strong project, financial, programme, and resource management skills
Experience managing large project teams (over 100 people)
Ability to meet demanding schedules and targets
Proven business development and marketing skills with a record of winning proposals
Excellent communication skills for staff, clients, and partners
BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering (or related field)
Chartered Engineer (or equivalent)
Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (or equivalent)
