Occupational Therapist – Eating Disorder (Full-Time, 37.5 hours)
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

A leading independent hospital in Chelmsford is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join its specialist Eating Disorder Ward on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week).

The hospital provides expert support for individuals experiencing eating disorders, psychosis, mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, and trauma .
You’ll be joining a multidisciplinary team of consultant psychiatrists, specialty doctors, nurses, psychologists, dietitians, and therapists — all committed to delivering person-centred care and helping patients achieve sustainable recovery.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll play a vital role in supporting recovery and promoting independence for individuals with eating disorders. Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions to restore daily functioning and engagement in meaningful activities.
Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to create and implement comprehensive, person-centred treatment plans.
Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions focusing on meal planning, sensory regulation, emotional management, and body image rehabilitation.
Supporting transitions across care settings , promoting recovery-focused routines and relapse prevention strategies.
Maintaining high-quality clinical documentation and contributing to audits, reviews, and service development in line with HCPC standards.

Essential Requirements:
Recognised degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy
HCPC registration
Strong assessment, communication, and clinical reasoning skills
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Compassionate, recovery-focused approach
Desirable:
Previous experience in eating disorder or mental health settings
