Head of Underwriting

Overview We’re Arc Legal and we are a specialist provider of ancillary insurance products. Part of the global AmTrust Financial group, we have more than 20 years of experience and as experts in our field, we are obsessed with delivering high quality ‘bespoke’ products and excellent customer service. About the role We are now looking for a Head of Underwriting to join our team, based out of our offices in Colchester. This leadership role has principal responsibility for all underwriting activity across the Arc Legal business including applying the permissions granted under binding authorities issued by capacity providers. Responsibilities With responsibility for a team of 3 underwriters, this role would suit you if you are a seasoned lead/senior underwriter, with demonstrable experience of building strong relationships and negotiating with capacity providers combined with leading an underwriting team. We do not expect you to be an expert in legal expenses insurance, but a broad understanding of the ancillaries market would be helpful. What is more important is that you can demonstrate strong technical and team leadership capability.
