Senior BIM Manager – Associate Director – Manchester/Leeds/Sheffield

We are looking for talented Associate Director‑level BIM/Digital professionals to work on a wide variety of exciting projects/programmes and support the leadership of our ambitious growth plans.

BIM Process
Discovery and understanding
Client adoption strategy and strategic project setup
Project and programme BIM execution planning
BIM implementation, information management and supply chain management
BIM compliance checking and data verification
The Opportunity
The individual will have the opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled team delivering and implementing BIM from strategy level to project level for global clients and support the growth of our regional team.
Duties
Capture client requirements and develop a BIM strategy to meet those requirements
Author key BIM documentation and workflows aligned to industry best practice
Lead and manage the roll‑out and implementation of the above within a client organisation, across a programme of works and at project level
Communicate the BIM strategy, documentation & workflows to stakeholders
Identify and mitigate digital risk
Lead/Manage digital transformation and strategy
Interface with clients, design teams and contractors implementing BIM methodologies and best practice from strategy level through to project delivery
Facilitate stakeholder meetings & workshops
Write detailed reports
Peer‑review work produced by colleagues to maintain Turner & Townsend quality measures
Support colleagues with project deliverables
Contribute to the development and maintenance of Turner & Townsend BIM documentation and processes
Undertake research and development of emerging technologies
Provide commission management and oversight
Play a leading role in the achievement of team objectives
Lead & manage a team, when needed
Stay abreast of developments within own technical area of expertise
Work with Directors to construct bids for new work
Provide direction to staff on specific tasks
Act as a role model for less experienced staff
Take a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages
Take responsibility for developing new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients
Identify and act upon cross‑selling opportunities
Knowledge management
Act as an ambassador championing the digital services delivered by Turner & Townsend
Qualifications
Consultancy background with experience of the design process and procurement routes within a relevant industry
Strong understanding of BIM industry standards and best practice
Good understanding of the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders within a project environment
Systematic approach to problem solving
Preferably educated to degree level or with sufficient demonstrable workplace experience to satisfy the requirements of the role
Design and Construction background; understanding handover of BIM and the operational phase of built assets desirable
BIM / Technology / Software
Understanding of emerging technology market that can support our clients & delivery
Working knowledge of the standards ISO 19650 (BIM) and international BIM standards
Understanding of roles and responsibilities relevant to a BIM‑enabled project
Working knowledge of the creation and maintenance of key BIM documentation
Working knowledge of a common data environment
Working knowledge of 3D modelling software such as Revit or ArchiCAD
Working knowledge of 3D model interrogation and clash detection software such as Solibri or Navisworks
Understanding of dashboard software such as Power BI or Tableau
Inquisitive nature to research and learn new software skills
