Our transformation programme has recently been relaunched, aligned to AXA Retail’s new Pricing and Analytics strategy. We’re investing a lot in growing our department in size and capability, across our IT systems, analytical toolset and learning and development. We’d love to hear from motivated people who can help us deliver our commitments to our business, our customers, and our people. We’re looking for a Head of Natural Catastrophe Pricing. You’ll lead Retail Pricing initiatives that enhance weather peril modelling and mitigate exposure to natural catastrophes, ultimately improving our reinsurance position, through acting as a technical subject matter expert for catastrophe modelling, exposure management and reinsurance in the Retail Pricing and Analytics function. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you’ll be doing Lead Pricing initiatives that improve risk selection and reduce exposure to adverse weather events. Develop, maintain and continuously improve natural event risk pricing models. Lead the evolution of exposure monitoring and insight tools that influence Retail Pricing activities and support strategic direction. Support in the creation and validation of Retail exposure submissions to the annual Clymene process and developing a path to improved frequency and accuracy of submissions. Manage relationship with Group to ensure insight from Cat Risk models build on and augment Retail’s risk understanding, whilst also supporting Group model development with observed insights. Represent Retail interests with external providers and relationships in the catastrophe and exposure management space e.g. Flood Re. Lead the development of the wider department in the areas of natural catastrophe pricing and exposure management. Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business including Exposure Management Director, Group Risk Management, Commercial Underwriters and Reinsurance Director. What you’ll bring Significant Pricing experience in Household general insurance. Excellent working knowledge of natural catastrophe pricing. Ability to manage and influence key stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to interact with executives, senior management and regulators. Substantial industry knowledge and understanding of the regulatory framework. Analytical problem‑solving skills. Business acumen. Self‑motivation. As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
